Toshogu Shrine (about 120 minutes, free time, lunch at your own expense)
Nikko Toshogu Shrine is located in Yamauchi, Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture. It is the headquarters of Toshogu Shrine. The main deity of the enshrinement is Tosho Ogongen (Tokugawa Ieyasu). Toshogu Shrine honors Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first shogun of the Edo shogunate. It has rich cultural heritage. historical landmark. The architecture of Toshogu Shrine is beautifully carved and magnificent. It is located among the Nikko Mountains and is built against the mountains. Among them, the Japanese-style Mingyang Gate and the Chinese-style Tang Gate are its iconic buildings. Its design aesthetic also employs various metaphors.
"Sleeping Cat": the carved sleeping cat has two flying sparrows on its back. This coexistence between animals is said to symbolize the peaceful future of the newly unified Japan, and it is also the most famous sculpture of Toshogu Shrine - "Sanbu monkey". The first one is "not seen", the second one is "not spoken", and the third one is "not heard". Every corner of the Toshogu Shrine has a fascinating story to tell. In December 1999, the "Shrines and Temples of Nikko" including Nikko Toshogu Shrine were designated a World Cultural Heritage site.

Irohazaka Route (without getting off the bus)
Iroha Mountain Road is one of the "Top 100 Roads in Japan". It is 15.8 kilometers from Nikko City to Lake Chuzenji and Oku-Nikko. There are a total of 48 turns on the up/down route. It is a mountain road located in the Nikko region. Famous for its picturesque driving routes. In autumn, mountain trails are the most beautiful and popular. Due to the varying heights of the mountains, you can enjoy the entire red leaves of various colors, which makes you feel relaxed and breathtaking. You can also view Kegon Falls and Lake Chuzenji from the Akechipingira Ropeway.
Akechidaira Ropeway & Observation Deck (about 60 minutes, price included)
Akechipingira Observatory is the most popular observatory in the Nikko area, and offers views of Lake Chuzenji and the Huayan Waterfall. From the east side of the observatory, you can also see Pingfeng Rock, which is made up of continuous cliffs, and the rolling mountains in the distance. Take the cable car from Akechipingira, a 3-minute ride, and you can reach the observation deck at an altitude of 1373 meters.

Lake Chuzenji (about 60 minutes)
Lake Chuzenji is the highest natural lake in Japan. In Lake Chuzenji, there are azaleas in spring, green trees in summer, red leaves in autumn, and snowy scenery in winter. Kegon Falls (stay for 30 minutes)
Kegon Falls is one of the three famous waterfalls in Japan and a popular tourist destination. The water from Chuzenji Lake forms the Ojiri River at its eastern end, crosses Mount Nantai, and flows down from a height of 700 meters to form the main part of the waterfall, which is 99 meters high. The upper rock protrudes forward and 12 small waterfalls flow out of rock gaps. In autumn, the surrounding red leaves are blanketed with beautiful scenery. It is the tourist center of Nikko National Park. It is perfect for taking pictures and has an artistic conception of mountains and flowing water.
